Tired of Calendly's per-seat pricing and limits? Compare 7 Calendly alternatives for 2027 on price, free plans, deposits, reminders and AI booking.
If you are looking for Calendly alternatives, Calendly has probably let you down in one of a few familiar ways. The bill grew with every person you added. The feature you needed sat on a higher plan. Your calendar stopped syncing. Or a client booked, never showed up, and Calendly gave you no way to charge for it.
You are not alone. On G2, "missing features," "calendar sync issues" and "expensive" are the most common complaints about Calendly, and about 30% of its Trustpilot reviews give it one star. Below we lay out those problems with sources, then compare seven Calendly alternatives that fix them: RazorBooking, Acuity Scheduling, SimplyBook.me, Setmore, Cal.com, YouCanBookMe and Google Calendar's free appointment schedules.
We make RazorBooking, so we list it first, with the same pros and cons as every other tool. Every fact about the other tools comes from the vendor's own pages, checked in October 2026.
The short list
Best Calendly alternative for salons, clinics and other service businesses: RazorBooking
Best for intake forms, packages and gift certificates: Acuity Scheduling
Best free plan with SMS and WhatsApp reminders: SimplyBook.me
Best for low cost: Setmore
Best open source and self-hosted option: Cal.com
Best for simple branded booking pages: YouCanBookMe
Best free option if you already use Google: Google Calendar appointment schedules
Best for AI that answers your phone: RazorBooking, with Cal.com and SimplyBook.me as the other options
Why people leave Calendly: 6 problems users keep reporting
These are the complaints that come up again and again in Calendly reviews, with the evidence for each one.
1. You pay for every seat, and the features you need sit on the higher plan
Calendly charges per person. Standard is $10 per seat per month on yearly billing, and Teams is $16. Round-robin booking, where clients get the next free team member, is only on Teams. So a team of six that needs round-robin pays $96 a month on yearly billing, or about $120 on monthly billing. The free plan allows one event type and one calendar, and it cannot take payments.
Users notice. "Expensive for advanced features" has 38 mentions on G2 and "missing features" has 54. One Capterra reviewer put it simply: "The seat-based plans can increase costs as more users are added."
2. Calendar sync breaks
Calendar sync is the second most common complaint on G2, with 46 mentions, mostly about unstable syncing and meetings going missing. Calendly also stopped accepting new iCloud Calendar connections on August 20, 2024. Accounts connected before that date still work, but new Apple Calendar users cannot connect.
3. It books meetings, not appointments
Each Calendly link books one kind of meeting. There is no menu of services with prices where a client picks a service, then picks the person they want, then pays. For a salon, clinic or studio, that means juggling a separate link for each person and service, or paying for Teams.
4. Nothing protects you from no-shows
Calendly can take payment at booking on paid plans. But when a customer asked about no-show and cancellation fees, Calendly's own team answered: "At this time there is no way to automate a no-show or cancellation fee via Calendly." Their suggested workaround was a Zapier automation.
5. Support is now a bot
Recent Trustpilot reviews from August and September 2026 describe getting an AI bot that walks you through fixes, and needing "an actual human" to solve the problem. A Capterra reviewer wrote that customer service "has gotten worse since they started using AI." About 30% of Calendly's roughly 670 Trustpilot reviews give one star.
6. Its AI is for meetings, not your front desk
Calendly's AI add-ons, Notetaker and Callie, take meeting notes and schedule over email. They do not answer your phone or talk to a visitor on your website. If missed calls cost you bookings, Calendly has nothing for that.
When Calendly is still the right tool
If you mostly book sales calls, demos or interviews, and you have a small team, Calendly still does that job well. It has 4.7 stars on Capterra from more than 4,000 reviews. The alternatives below are for people whose business has outgrown that model.

The 7 best Calendly alternatives, reviewed
1. RazorBooking: best for service businesses that want deposits, staff choice and AI answering
RazorBooking is a booking and appointment platform for businesses that sell services, such as salons, clinics, workshops and studios. It fixes the Calendly problems above directly: flat pricing with team members included, a real service menu, deposits against no-shows, WhatsApp reminders, and optional AI that answers your phone.

Key features
Service menu. List services with prices and durations, plus variations such as a longer or premium version.
Clients choose their team member. Clients pick who they see, or take the first available person. Each team member keeps their own availability.
Deposits and payments. Ask for a deposit or full payment at booking, so no-shows cost the client, not you. Stripe, PayPal and other gateways are supported.
WhatsApp confirmations and reminders. Clients get booking messages in the app they already read.
A booking page that can replace a website. Services, team, gallery and booking in one place, with coupons and optional product ordering.
AI voice widget (optional). Website visitors can talk to your booking page and book without typing.
AI phone receptionist (optional). Answers calls, checks availability and books the client while you work.

Pros
Built around appointments, not meetings
Flat pricing with team members included, and WhatsApp and deposits from the first plan
Deposits and WhatsApp reminders built in
Choose a plan with AI or without it
Cons
A 7-day free trial instead of a free plan, with no credit card needed
No Apple or iCloud Calendar sync; Google and Outlook calendars sync both ways
Pricing
Solo is $15 per month on yearly billing ($19 monthly) and includes 3 team members, unlimited bookings, deposits, online payments and WhatsApp reminders. Pro is $29 per month on yearly billing ($39 monthly), includes 5 team members and adds your own domain. Growth is $49 per month on yearly billing ($59 monthly) and includes 10 team members. Extra team members are $9 a month billed yearly ($10 monthly). Every plan works without AI. If you want AI answering, choose the plan with AI: $25, $49 or $79 a month billed yearly ($29, $59 or $99 monthly), with 50, 150 or 300 AI minutes a month. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, no credit card needed.
RazorBooking vs Calendly
Calendly books a meeting. RazorBooking books a service. That shows up in the service menu, client choice of team member, deposits, WhatsApp reminders and AI that answers the phone. And the price gap grows with every person you add.
Competitor plan | RazorBooking plan |
|---|---|
Calendly Teams: $96โ$120 per month for a team of 6 that needs round-robin booking | RazorBooking Pro: $38โ$49 per month for a team of 6 (5 included plus 1 extra team member) |
You save $58 to $71 every month, or $696 to $852 a year.
Compare like with like: $96 against $38 is yearly billing, and $120 against $49 is monthly billing. Calendly Teams is $16 per seat per month on yearly billing and about $20 on monthly billing (the monthly figure is from third-party pricing guides). Without round-robin, six Calendly Standard seats cost $60 per month on yearly billing.

How we compared these tools
We reviewed each vendor's public pricing, help and product pages in October 2026, and read Calendly's reviews on G2, Capterra and Trustpilot to find the complaints that come up most often. We compared the tools on price, free plan, fit for appointment-based businesses, payments and deposits, reminders and AI booking. We did not run hands-on tests of the other tools. When a vendor's page did not mention a feature, we marked it as not stated instead of assuming it is missing.
We make RazorBooking, so we have a stake in the result. Plans and prices change, so check each vendor's site before you buy.
